in more than 5% of inorganic acid, can also dissolve in ammonia and 160 parts of boiling water. Its alkali metal salts are soluble in water.

EDTA is an important complexing agent. EDTA has a wide range of uses. Principle of production
It is prepared by acidification after reaction of ethylenediamine with sodium chloroacetic acid. Tetra sodium salt can also be obtained by the reaction of ethylenediamine with formaldehyde and sodium cyanide, and then acidified by sulfuric acid.
