Classification and use of resin

1, according to the resin synthesis reaction classification

According to this method, the resin can be divided into polymerization and polycondensation. Addition refers to the polymer produced by the addition polymerization reaction, the chemical formula of its chain structure and the molecular formula of the monomer is the same, such as polyethylene, polystyrene, polytetrafluoroethylene and so on.

Condensate refers to polymers produced by condensation polymerization reaction, the chemical formula of its structural unit is different from the molecular formula of the monomer, such as phenolic resins, polyester resins, polyamide resins and so on.

3、Classification according to the main chain composition of resin molecules

According to this method, the resin can be divided into carbon chain polymers, heterochain polymers and elemental organic polymers.

Carbon chain polymers are polymers whose main chain is composed of carbon atoms, such as polyethylene, polystyrene and so on.

Heterochain polymers refers to the main chain of carbon and oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and other atoms of two or more elements of the polymer, such as polyformaldehyde, polyamide, polysulfone, polyether and so on. Elemental organic polymers are polymers that do not necessarily contain carbon atoms in the main chain, mainly composed of silicon, oxygen, aluminum, titanium, boron, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements of the atom, such as silicone.

4, according to the nature of the resin classification

Thermosetting resin (glass fiber reinforced plastic is generally used in such resins): unsaturated polyester / vinyl ester / epoxy / phenolic / bismaleimide (bmi) / polyimide resin.

Thermoplastic resins: polypropylene (pp) / polycarbonate (pc) / nylon (nylon) / polyether ether ketone (peek) / polyethersulfone (pes) and so on.
